At Pink Bamboo Mahjong, we believe in the power of gathering. Through thoughtfully curated events and experiences, we bring women together to learn, play, and create lasting connections through the timeless tradition of Mahjong.
What started as a love for the game has grown into a vibrant community centered on friendship, hospitality, and shared experiences. Our mission is simple: to create welcoming spaces where everyone feels encouraged to pull up a chair and join the conversation.

The Women Behind Pink Bamboo Mahjong
Julie McCollem
Co-FounderJulie has always had a passion for helping others learn and grow. A graduate of Tufts University and a nurse by profession, she has spent her career caring for people — but always carried a dream of teaching and creating meaningful connections.
When Julie discovered Mahjong, she instantly fell in love with not only the strategy and tradition of the game, but the incredible way it brings people together. Combining her patience, warmth, and natural ability to teach, she found joy in introducing others to the game and watching confidence, laughter, and friendships grow around the Mahjong table.
A proud mom of three boys, Julie understands how special it is to take time for yourself, connect with friends, and build community.
Through Pink Bamboo Mahjong, Julie shares her love of teaching and the game — creating a welcoming space where players of all levels can learn, connect, and experience the friendships that begin one tile at a time.
Nina Previte
Co-FounderFor Nina, the details have always mattered—from creating beautiful spaces to bringing people together for meaningful experiences. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Marketing and Fashion Merchandising, she has spent more than 20 years in technology sales, combining her passion for relationship-building, creativity, and connection.
With a lifelong love of design, entertaining, and community, Nina was drawn to Mahjong for its unique blend of tradition, strategy, and friendship.
As a busy mom of three boys, she understands the importance of making time to reconnect, recharge, and enjoy life's simple pleasures.
Through Pink Bamboo Mahjong, Nina brings together her creativity, love of hosting, and passion for community to create welcoming experiences where people can gather, learn, laugh, and build lasting friendships around the table.
